Public Health: Minister resolutely for improved health services
The Minister of Public Health Dr. Manaouda Malachie has held dialogue and consultation meeting with personnel of his ministry.
The meeting was organised to seek ways of improving healthcare services in the country.
Hospital managers and Doctors from the ten regions listened to the Minister explain why there is an urgent need to reform healthcare service in Cameroon.
He called for more professionalism, exhorted medical staff to be more compassionate and humane in handling patients.
Dr. Manaouda also highlighted the need for health facilities to remain clean.
Minister addresses conditions of work
Addressing the age-old problem of difficult working conditions, the Minister of Public Health Dr. Manaouda Malachie acknowledged the fact that quality healthcare can be provided only when working conditions are adequate.
The Public health boss promised to make the working environment more conducive.
He promised the recruitment of four thousand health personnel to reinforce the work force in hospitals.
He also promised to facilitate the process of salary payment for new graduates.
The Public Health boss said his Ministry is putting in place a system where retirees will receive their benefits promptly.
During the meeting, experts made presentations on best practices in health facilities.
