Sonara Fire Accident: Interministerial delegation sheds light on government’s directives

The personnel of the National Refining company, SONARA got the assurance that they will be no job cuts despite the fire accident that destroyed part of the refinary.

The assurance was given by the Minister of Water and Energy, Gaston Eloundou Essomba who is leading an inter Ministerial delegation to assess the damage caused by the blaze.

The delegation was at the site to assess the extent of damage.

The delegation noted that four production units were razed by the flames while three were partially affected.

On the spot, the delegation also pledged to give full assistance to the population affected by the accident.

The Minister stated that the accident will not negatively affect the supply, let alone the price of fuel in the country.
