The Prime Minister – Head of Government signed an order setting up a commission to find the cause of the accident of 30th March at the National Refining company in Limbe.
The commission which is headed by the Minister of Water Resources and Energy Gaston Eloundou Essomba has thirty days to present its findings. Its missions include;
#Identifying the cause and propose ways of avoiding future accidents
#Identifying those responsible
#Evaluating the management of the accident and make proposals.
The commission has been empowered to interrogate any one susceptible to give valuable information and also to invite external expertise if need be.
Members of the commission have been drawn from four Ministries;
# Water resources and Energy
# Mines, Industry and Technology Development
#Environment, Nature Protection and Sustainable Development
Other institutions incharge of defence and security with members sitting in the commission are ;
#The National Gendarmerie
# The General Delegation of National Security
#The Directorate General of External Research
