The Eyumojock tragedy: The State honours its fallen heroes

The music of the police band ushered the caskets of the four policemen into the courtyard of the Advanced Police College in Yaounde.

In was an emotion packed atmosphere, the police family gave military salute to four of theirs.

Not only the police but the entire nation paid glowing homage to its heroes.

They were posthumously decorated with medals of bravery in public security by the Delegate General for National Security, Martin Mbarga Nguele on behalf of the Head of State.

The Head of State also sent a message of condolences to the family of the deceased.

The police boss described the four as valiant law enforcement officers whose demise will not dampen the determination of the police force in fulfilling its mission nationwide.

The vehicle transporting the four men hit a landmine on the 15 June 2019 in Eyumojock, Manyu Division. The team was on mission to Mamfe.

The fallen policemen will be laid to rest on Saturday 29th June 2019 in their respective region of origin.
