Tourism : Government launches project to improve Cameroon’s touristic visibility

The government has launched a multimedia communication project to promote Cameroon’s touristic potentials internationally , known as ” Les charmes du Cameroon ” .

The Project was launched on 18th June 2019 in Yaounde by the Technical Adviser at the Ministry of Leisure and Tourism, Bilack Garka.

“Les charmes du Cameroun”, is a wholistic multimedia strategy that seeks to sell Cameroon’s image abroad with the goal of boosting the tourism sector.

Accordingly, a 600 page journal on the country’s attractive features , translated into 10 languages will be published on multimedia platforms .

Among the languages include ; French, English, German, Spanish, Turkish, Mandara, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese and Italian.

The project will zoom into sectors like sports, the four cultural zones , multilingual and multicultural sectors , touristic sites, schools, banks, companies , infrastructural projects and the nation’s over 200 ethnic groups.

To increase awareness nationwide, sports equipment and touristic sites will be printed on school accessories.

Speaking during the event, the Project manager Mr. Louis Constatin Noumbissi said “Les Charmes du Cameroon” will be Cameroon’s showcase of her rich touristic and cultural heritage that’s little known by even by some nationals.

“Les charmes du Cameroon” has been in the pipeline for almost 10 years .
