After qualifying second place in group F, the Indomitable Lions is set for the 16th final of the tournament .
The team left Ismailia to Alexandria where the Head Coach Clarence Seedorf faced the press in a pre-match conference.
The exchange took place in the Alexandria Stadium where the Indomitable Lions will take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a decisive game of the tournament.
Commenting on the match to come, Clarence Seedorf stated “We want to beat Nigeria and go as far as winning the tournament”.
Cameroon’s Head coach however acknowledges the football might of Nigeria but states that it is a bigger challenge to face a great team.
The game which comes up tomorrow 6th July 2019 will be another test for the Lions’s psychologically and physically preparedness.
The coach was assisted during the press conference by one of Cameroon’s rising stars, Andre Onana.
Asked to comment on the Cameroon-Nigeria match the goalkeeper for the Indomitable Lions said “I am confident and really excited . I have played more difficult games before “.
The Head Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr earlier went through the same ritual.
He said his boys remain focused and really want to win and sail through.
He was accompanied by William Paul Troost Ekong, a Nigerian professional footballer who plays in the centre back position for an Italian club, Udinese.
History has it that Nigeria and Cameroon, amongst the two most valued teams in Africa, are rivals in African football.
The two teams have a 35-year AFCON record and have clashed in six occasions.
