CDC : Minister of Agriculture gets disturbing figures from the country’s second employer

 The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Gabriel Mbairobe was on a working visit to the Cameroon Development Corporation-CDC on 5th July 2019.

 

Minister Gabriel Mbairobe visited the corporation to assess the afflictions caused by the socio-political crisis in the North West and South West regions.

Over 11,000 employees have been left jobless in the corporation whose monthly disbursement was FCFA2.5 billion.

Thousands of workers have a-12 -month unpaid salary arrears presently estimated at FCFA20 billion .

Sixteen have been killed in the socio-political violence .

In the meantime, dozens have been victims of attacks , maimed, or sustained gunshot wounds during the crisis .

Hon. Efite Andrew, staff representative called upon government to disburse the FCFA 9.3 billions owed employees as arrrears.

The Minister of Agriculture appealed to workers to resume work , promising to have government pay arrears owed and especially, ensure the security of workers.

Minister Mbairobe praised the resilience of the staff in the face of difficulties.

He assured them that government is working hard to address the problems faced by CDC .
