Humanitarian Aid: Prime Minister bring the different actors together

Prime Minister – Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute expressed gratitude of the President of the Republic, to the humanitarian organisations who responded positively to the Head of State’s Humanitarian Emergency Plan for the North West and South West regions launched on 20th June 2018.

He was speaking during a meeting grouping members of government and international partners on the coordination of humanitarian activities in Cameroon.

The meeting evaluated the humanitarian action in the North West and South West regions and put in place an efficient coordination of actions destined to relief distressed population.

UN representatives, diplomats and members of government at the meeting were reminded of the terms and conditions under which humanitarian organisations operate and the need to respect the sovereignty of Cameroon.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance to coordinating the assistance from government and its partners destined to the populations in order to meet up with the diverse needs that have been identified.

At the end if the more than one hour meeting, the Coordinator of the United Nations Systems in Cameroon, Allegre Maria Del Pilar Baiocchi expressed satisfaction with the Prime Minister’s initiative to bring the different actors together and the determination by development partners to increase their aid package and comply with the laws of the land and UN standards.

The stakeholders also agreed that Humanitarian partners will meet quarterly with the Coordinator of the Emergency Humanitarian Plan, Minister of Territorial Administration, Paul Atanga Nji to evaluate grounds covered.
