The Ministry of Public Health has organized a sports walk in prelude to the national month for the fight against Viral Hepatitis.
Public Health officials and some associations involved in the fight against the killer disease walked through the streets of Yaounde this 27th July 2019.
From the esplanade of the Public Health ministry, the officials walked down to the Warda roundabout , the radio house, Nlongkak roundabout , Etoa Meki, Elig Esono , the central town and back to the esplanade of the Ministry of Public Health.
The sports walk was meant to raise awareness on the month-long national campaign against Hepatitis scheduled for 26th July to 31st August 2019 .
This year’s theme is ” “Invest in eliminating Hepatitis”.
Public Health Minister, Manaouda Malachie , will officially launch the month-long campaign on Monday 29th July 2019 in Ebolowa.
Viral Hepatitis is a major public health concern in Cameroon which government has vowed to eradicate.
Accordingly , the officials call on all and sundry to get screened on time in order to ensure prevention or timely treatment.
