Chad – Cameroon Mixed Commission: 23rd session holds in Yaounde

The Foreign Affairs Minister of Chad, Cherif Mahamat Zene is at the head of the Chadian delegation to the 23rd Chad – Cameroon Mixed Commission holding in Cameroon’s political capital, Yaounde.

He was received by his Cameroonian counterpart, Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella on arrival in Cameroon.

The heads of delegation from the two neighbouring countries exchanged civilities before settling down for the effective start of joint commission meeting. The cordiality attests of the brotherly and bilateral ties that both countries share since 1960.

The meeting which is the 23rd in 49 years is discussing three main issues as pointed out to the press by the Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella. They include on political and judicial issues, economic cooperation and cultural ties between Cameroon and Chad.

The head of the Chadian delegation told media men that the meeting will also be occasion to enhance bilateral cooperation in various areas especially regarding the environment, issues regarding the free movement of people and goods across their common border.

Both neighbouring countries are members of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central African, CEMAC.
