The bilateral dismantling of tariff barriers between Cameroon and the European Union has entered its fourth phase since 4th August 2019. According to the General Directorate of Customs the fourth phase will run from 04th August 2019 to 03rd August 2020.
The current phase of the Economic Partnership Accords between Cameroon and the European Union covers one hundred percent custom duty exemption for products Group 1 while other duties and taxes remain unchanged.
The list of products and rates applicable for products complying with Group I eligibility conditions include household appliance and machines for industry as well as essential medication.
The agreement also stipulates that the Customs Duty on Import of the relevant products of Group 2 will be reduced by 45% while other duties and taxes remain unchanged.
The list of products and rates applicable for products complying with Group II eligibility conditions include machines and equipments for industry among others.
According to the agreement only imports originating from the concerned countries within the list of the European Union member countries concerned are eligible for the exemptions.
