EMIA: 38th batch christened “Peace and Unity”
The 38th batch of cadet officers of the Combined Service Military Academy, EMIA have been christened the Peace and Unity.
They were named during a ceremony presided over by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Joseph Beti Assomo at the General Headquarters Brigade in Yaounde.
The event marks the end of one year of training for the cadet officers at the Combined Service Military Academy.
The Peace and Unity batch is composed of 338 cadet officers from Cameroon and five other friendly countries including, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea Conakry, Central African Republic, and the Republic of Congo.
In line with military tradition, the commander of the Initial Training Division, gave commanding order for the troop to get on their kneels before he tuned to the Minister and asked, “Mister Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence what name do you give to the 38th batch of the Combined Arms Services Military Academy?”
The Minister responded that, “On behalf of the President of the Republic, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, the 38th batch of the Combined Arms Services Military Academy is christened Peace and Unity”
The cadet officers then stood vigorously and returned to their initial position. The Minister Delegate then reminded the cadet officers to be a reflection their christen name and to strive for the consolidation of peace and unity in Cameroon and in their respective countries.
The ceremony was crowned by a march-past lead by the commander of the Combined Arms Services Military Academy.
After this event, the cadet officers will continue training for another two years before they triumph; a graduation ceremony presided over by the President of the Republic.
