National Dialogue: PM’s office release the five day programme

The programme for the five day Major National Dialogue convened by the Head of State Paul has been released by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Major National Dialogue which is aimed at finding solutions to the crisis in the socio-political crisis in North West and South West regions and other national issues will run from 30th September to 4th October 2019.

Discussions will be held at the Yaounde Conference Centre.

Eight cimmissions have been created to discuss the different issues raised at the pre-dialogue consultations with the Prime Minister Head of Government Chief Doctor Joseph Dion Ngute.

The commissions

  1. Bilingualism, Cultural Diversity and Social Cohesion.
  2. Education System
  3. Judicial System
  4. Decentralisation and Local Development
  5. Reconstruction and Development of Crisis-Affected Persons
  6. Return of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons
  7. Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration of Ex-combatants
  8. Role of Diaspora in the Crisis and its Contribution to the Country’s Development

The programme

Registration of participants for the Major National Dialogue begins this Sunday 29th and Monday 30th September 2019 at the Yaounde Conference Centre.

The PM Dion Ngute will officially give an opening address before the plenary sessions.

Plenary sessions will be held for general discussions and the organisation of committees and the election of a bureau.

# Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd October 2019 will strictly be reserved for committee sessions.

The committees will meet in three sessions on these days with quick coffee breaks.

# On Thursday 3rd October 2019, the different committees will present their reports in a plenary session.

There is going to be a review and adoption of the Final Report of the National Dialogue.

A Grand Gala Night will also be offered to all participants and special guests this Thursday night.

# Friday 4th October 2019 ends the Major National Dialogue.

The solemn closing session will begin at 12 noon.

The Rapporteur General will have a reading of the General Report and the closing ceremony will be chaired by the Prime Minister Head of Government Chief Doctor Dion Ngute.
