The Under 23 Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have rounded up with training in the town of Ismaila, Egypt ahead of the 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations to kick-off this Friday November 8, 2019 in Egypt.
The boys of Rigobert Song played a draw test game against Nigeria on Tuesday November 5, 2019 as part of preparations for the upcoming football bonanza.
First timers, Cameroon lodged in group A will face Ghana, Mali and Egypt while Nigeria face South Africa, Zambia and Cote d’Ivoire in group B.
The run for the Intermediate Lions
The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon will kick start the competitions on this Friday November 8, 2019 in a debut match with Ghana at the Cairo International Stadium.
Earlier on the same day, the host, Egypt will pick on Mali in the opening game of the 2019 U-23 AFCON.
The boys of Song Bahanag will face-off Egypt in their day-2 outing programmed for Monday November 11, 2019 at the Cairo International Stadium.
On the same day still in Group A, Ghana will throw weights with host Egypt.
On Thursday November 14, 2019, Cameroon will clash with Egypt while group members Ghana will face Mali.
In Group B, Nigeria plays Cote d’Ivoire on Saturday November 9, 2019 and South Africa will cross lines with Zambia.
The second group game here has been programmed for Tuesday November 12, 2019; Cote d’Ivoire Vs South Africa, Zambia Vs Nigeria.
On Friday November 15, 2019 , Nigeria will once again clash with South Africa, and Cote d’Ivoire against Zambia.

#Zambia is not a debutant, the team will be participating for the 2nd time. In 2015, Zambia was eliminated at the Group stage.
The competition begins on Friday November 11, and will serve as qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 qualifiers.
The 2019 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations will be the third edition of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations, the quadrennial international age-restricted football championship organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the men’s under-23 national teams of Africa.
Nigeria is the defending champions.
