The Minister of Water Resources and Energy during a visit to the East Region on Monday November 11, 2019 assured the population of steady electricity supply.
The promise is part of a solution to several months of persistent blackouts in the towns of Bertoua, Abong Mbang and other parts of the East region
The regular electricity cuts made life difficult for population, especially business people.
As remedy to the prevailing situation, the Minister of Water Resources and Energy, Gaston ELOUNDOU ESSOMBA visited some localities in the East Region to give them good news from the Head of State.
He told the people that in the next 24 months the East Region will enjoy uninterrupted electricity supply.
Adding that the President of the Republic instructed that the region be connected to the South – East Interconnection electricity supply project.
The project will take off on November 15, 2019. It is financed by the Exim bank. The Minister called on the population to collaborate with the team in charge of the project for the project to be a success.
The energy supply post will be constructed in Abong Mbang and will produce at least 225 kilovolts to electrify many villages in the East Region.
The population welcomed the iniative.
