Citizen Journalism: Media Practitioners redefine Standards
Journalists and other communication experts are meeting in Yaounde to discuss how to manage the proliferation of Citizen Journalists.
Discussions are taking place within the context of the inaugural edition of the Press Citizen Days.
Focusing on the theme, “Journalism and Citizenship”, the communication family will exchange notes from December 12 to 14, 2019 at the Ministry of Post Telecommunications.
Opening the conference, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Li Likeng highlighted the importance of this three-day encounter.

The Director of the Advanced School of Mass Communication, Prof Laurent Charles Assala Boyomo, representing the Minister of Higher Education, gave the inaugural lesson.
Prof Boyomo raised a number of salient issues including the training of citizen journalists.
On his part, the Vice President of the Media Association for Mediation and Citizenship, Kini Nsom emphasised the need for the Journalism ethics to be upheld, especially stating facts, in the practice of Citizen Journalism.

This inaugural edition of the Press Citizen Days is brainchild of the Media Association for Mediation and Citizenship with the French Acronym, 2MC headed by, Valentin Siméon Zinga.
