The President of the Republic, Paul Biya has received in audience the Ambassador of France to Cameroon, H.E. Christophe Guilhou.
He was bearer of a sealed messaged sent by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron to his Cameroonian counterpart.
The sealed envelope was handed over at the Unity Palace on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 during the one-hour audience.
At the end of the in-camera discussions, Ambassador Christophe Guilhou disclosed that the letter from the Elysée Palace to the Unity Palace was a thank you message to the Head of State of Cameroon.
President Emmanuel Macron was thanking President Paul Biya for participating Sixth Replenishment Conference of the Global Fund to step up the fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria that took place in Lyon from October 9 to 10, 2019.
The audience which was the first for Ambassador Christophe Guilhou was also occasion to revisit relations two the two countries. The Ambassador expressed satisfaction on the convergence of views with President Paul Biya, on the rich history of cooperation between Yaounde and Paris.
He described the exchange as fruitful as it explored new strategies to enhance bilateral cooperation particularly in the development of the economy and welfare of Cameroonians.
