The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad is presently in Yaounde for a three day working visit with the Local Organising Committee of the 2020 African Nations Championship and the 2021 AFCON (COCAN).
Accompanied by Cameroonian Football legend, Samuel Eto’o Fils, the CAF boss was received at the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport this Monday January 13, 2020 by the President of FECAFOOT, Seidou Mbombo Njoya.
Facing the press shortly after the airport pleasantries, the Malagasy man expressed the wish to get to work on real business as soon as possible.
To the CAF President, everyone has a role to contribute in the success and growth of football, thus his visit is just a wake-up call for Cameroon.
“Today marks the second official visit in Cameroon, the first was with the Head of State and this time, I am on a working visit to meet with competent football authorities and stakeholders, and take important decisions concerning the 2021 AFCON”.
Ahmad Ahmad went further to emphasize that the decisions taken will be for the interest of Cameroonian football and the growth of the game in Africa.
The CAF boss also stated “I feel comfortable because I am here to listen to everyone concerned and not to make recommendations”.
He lauded Eto’o Fils’ unflinching support of football in Cameroon and the continent as a whole.
His working visiting runs from Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 January, 2020.
