The 37th batch of cadet Officers of the Combined Services Military Academy, EMIA are rehearsing their final steps ahead of their Triumph.
The Triumph is the graduation ceremony at the Military headquarters brigade in Yaounde general presided over by the Head of State, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
The final rehearsals began at about 2pm in the presence of the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defense, his two Secretaries of State in charge of the National Gendarmerie and Ex-servicemen respectively.
Top military officers and some cabinet ministers were also present.
The Director of State Protocol, the Director of Presidential security and the Director of the Civil Cabinet were all at the military headquarters brigade to ensure that every detail is respected to the letter.
The 187 cadet officers have spent three years training in different specialised units of Cameroon’s defence forces preparing to join the prestige command Corp of officers in Cameroons military simulated all the stages of the event from the arrival of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, through the award of epaulets, the lone speech of the day, the match past and the photo session with the Head of State.
One of the major innovations in the training of the graduating batch was the commando training received at the Airborne Battalion in Koutaba that equips them with skills to carryout military manoeuvres in the air and on land.
The rehearsals is the last before the grand ceremony where they will receive their epaulets of lieutenant or sub lieutenant from the hands of the President of Republic Commander in chief of the Armed Forces.
The Triump as the graduation ceremony is called is the only graduation in the military that is presided over by the Head of State.
The batch is christened Major General Jacob Kodji.
