National Vote counting committee has handed over the final results to the President of the Constitutional Council, Clement Atangana.
During a brief ceremony at the Constitutional Council, the President of the National Committee for the counting of votes of the February 9 legislative election, Emile Essombe on behalf of the 46 member committee signal the end of their mission.
He note that their work was essentially to count and correct any clerical error which were essential mathetical errors that might have emanted from the divisional supervisory committees.
After the recounting exercise, the committees established a table showing the final result that are forwarded to the Constitutional Council for publication.
Emile Essombe saluted the responsibility of members of the committee.
Some of the members though saluted the quality of the work expressed the wish that the law code give them more powers.
Benz Enow Bate, leader of the Cameroon Democratic Party, CDP in a interview wished that in the future the National vote counting committee is given powers to corss check the registers on which voters signed during voting.
At the end the ceremony, the Constitutional Council issued a released inviting parties hearings of post election as from Monday, February 24, 2020.
