Crtv’s Director General , Charles Ndongo, and Deputy, Emmanuel Wongibe, have received new year wishes from the corporation’s staff this February 14, 2020.
The event was also an occasion to bid farewell to 66 retirees.
During the New Year wishes ceremony, the corporation looked back at the successes and challenges of the previous year.
Mr. Charles Ndongo applauded the staff for a successful coverage of key events in the country in 2019.
CRTV was particularly at the heart of the successful coverage of the Major National Dialogue.
Still in 2019, the corporation launched a new channel, Crtv Sports and Entertainment.
The 2020 Challenge
A major challenge that awaits the Cameroon Radio Television this year, is the media coverage of the African Nations Championship, CHAN 2020.
That comes after the corporation’s successful coverage of February 9 Legislative and Municipal elections.
For CRTV to have a successful 2020,
the staff was particularly cautioned against practices that do not foster the interest of the corporation.
Mr. Charles Ndongo says all personnel involved in acts of indiscipline and misbehavior will be sanctioned accordingly.
For the first time, CRTV bid farewell to a huge group of 66 former personnel of the corporation, now retirees.
The Director General took out time to thank them immensely, for long years of hard work rendered to the corporation.
One of the retirees, Mr. Martin Engama, a sound technician, was specially honored with a Medal of Merit, in appreciation of over 30 years of outstanding service to the Crtv.
Each of them took home a gift that will keep the memories of the corporation alive.
