The bilingual masterpiece produced by the Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation (SOPECAM) was officially presented to the public in Yaounde on February 21, 2020 under the chairmanship of the Minister of Communication Rene Emmanuel Sadi.
The *“Golden Book of Cameroon Football* is a bilingual publication of SOPECAM prefaced by the President of the Republic, Paul Biya.
It highlights the prowess of Cameroonian sports men and women at home and abroad.
Using texts and photos, the life and tragectory Cameroonian football are brought to the limelight.
The book analyses nearly 90 years of football in Cameroon of national teams, level (senior, junior and women’s categories) and the input of football training centres across the national triangle.
Besides information on Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions, the Golden Book of Cameroon Football invites for all and sundry to rally behind a strong and indivisible nation Cameroon under one leader, Paul Biya.
It shows the country’s readiness to host the 16-nation African Nations Championship (CHAN) from 4-25 April 2020 and the 24-country Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2021).
The 263-page book containd incisive and attractive testimonies of the glorious Lions, football trainers, sports analysts and well-informed observers.
The book equally highlights the steadfast efforts and treasured contributions of Cameroon’s number one sportsman, President Paul Biya, to the promotion of football as a whole and the Indomitable Lions in particular.
Through the Golden Book of Cameroon Football, SOPECAM serves readers with telling facts that loudly and clearly speak of the grandeur of the sports which has proven over the years to be an unparalleled unifier.
To say the least, between 1984 and 2017, Cameroon has lifted five AFCON coveted trophies, one edition of the Olympic Games and participated six times in the World Cup.
