2020 CHAN: CAF writes to FECAFOOT

The Secretariat of the Confederation of African Football, CAF has sent a letter to the Cameroon Football federation on the various important requirements for the organisation of the 2020 CHAN.

The letter addressed by CAF’s Secretary General, Anthony Baffoe clearly states the important elements needed for the successful organisation and hosting of the continental football championship to run from April 4th – 25th, 2020 in Cameroon.

The letter that comes in the build-up to CAF’s last inspection visit at the sites and facilities to host the 2020 CHAN takes into consideration the following major points;

# General Aspects and Competitions

-Plan of action for the transportation of the participating teams and the CAF delegation.
-Updates on the state of progress at the stadiums and training grounds; Japoma, Bonamoussadi Stadium, Mbappe Leppe, Beac, Annexe 1 of the Yaounde Omnisport stadium and the soccer training grounds of the Limbe Stadium.
-Plan of action for volunteers
-List and contacts of members of the local organisting committees assigned to sites
-Concept of the opening ceremony
-Concept of the closing ceremony

# Refereeing
-VAR aspect (stadia and training sites)
-Six broadcast cameras each and accessories
– Samples of test games (players and referees included)
– Simulation systems in hotels.
Accordingly, the operational experts of the various equipment will be designated by CAF.

# Marketing
-Look and Feel: Stadium dressing
-Specifications of giant TV screens for every stadium
-Plan of action for fan zones (details)
-Image Production plan: list of the new equipment to be used by Crtv
-List of Supporters at the national level.

# Media
-Press attachés in every site
-Hotels reserved for the media in every site
-Updates on the media centres and tribunes

# Health
-Updates to CAF on an organigram of the medical commissions (taking into account the number of medical kits, ambulances, hospitals and airports)
-Send a request letter to the Ministry of Transport for a metrological equipment.
– Free provisions for consultations, blood examinations, radiologies amongst many others
-Refreshal course for local medical and hotel staff etc

The sites
-Douala
-Yaounde
-Buea/Limbe

The following should be ensured;
-A high level of hospitability reserved for CAF and the visiting delegations
-A substantial number of well equipped ambulances (Douala is host to two groups and should have at most 30 ambulances etc)
– Control hall for anti-doping
-Ensure a reinforced security guide in the sites, hotels and hospitals to host the competitions.

These amongst many other according to the SG of CAF should meet up to the standards of the football governing body meanwhile a detailed report on the various requirements must be forwarded to CAF this Thursday, March 12, 2020.
