COVID-19 : 61 patients recover, health care givers are applauded

The Minister of Public Health Dr. Manaouda Malachie has paid glowing tribute to health care givers as he announced that 61 COVID-19 patients have recovered.

Forty-three of them were reported on April 6, the highest recoveries recorded in a single day.

But the country’s confirmed have risen to 730 cases, 660 active cases, and 10 deaths.

Six out of ten regions are currently affected with the Centre recording the
Highest number of cases.

The 61 recoveries were made public barely 24 hours after Public Health officials announced that Cameroon had come to the end of the first operational phase in the response to the health crisis.

It is the first time such a massive number of patients will leave the hospital, after receiving treatment for a minimum of 14 days.

The number of recoveries is a glimmer of hope that Cameroon can conquer the deadly disease wreaking harvoc across the globe.

Tribute to health care givers

Since the first COVID-19 cases were reported in Cameroon, health care givers have been toiling day and night to save lives, and limit the spread of the disease.

These professional are at the forefront of the country’s response to the health crisis.

As the country records 61 recoveries, health care givers have been applauded nationwide for their professionalism.

During a recent press briefing , the Public Health Minister paid glowing tribute to the professionals, stating that “they have been carrying out their mission with dedication, commitment and a sense of sacrifice and public service”.

To improve their working conditions , Dr. Manaouda Malachie has promised to pay more attention to the protection of these health professionals.
