#COVID19 : Minister Suspends All Forms Of Collective Sports

The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi has ordered for the temporal suspension of collective sporting activities in the country as the number of the #COVID19 victims keep increasing.

The Sports boss in press document signed July, Wednesday 29, 2020 reiterates that it is an obligation for everyone to scrupulously respect safety measures laid down by the state of Cameroon and the WHO.

He has called on sports managers, proprietors of sports facilities and physical fitness sites amongst many others to put a stop in the practice of sports and physical activities until further notice.

Football matches, holiday championships and other crowd pulling sporting events that can propel the fast spread of the virus have been cancelled for now.

In an assuring tone, Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi notes that in collaboration with the national sports movement, safety conditions for a progressive resumption of sporting activities in the very near future will be made available.

For the time being, Sporting and recreational facilities like Parcours Vita’s (Yaounde, Bamanda and Douala), INJS, National Youth and Sports Centres (CENAJES) and decentralised services of the ministry remain open for counselling and public assistance.

The Minister cautions a responsible behaviour in the national sports family while encouraging individual sports and sporting activities limited to small numbers of persons.
