National Communication Council: Five Journalists Suspended For Professional Malpractices

The National Communication Council, NCC has suspended Jean-Pierre Amougou Belinga, Parfait Ayissi Etoa and Jean-Jacques Ze for a period of one month.
The owner of Vision 4 TV station and CEO of Groupe l’Anecdote was suspended from his function as Publisher while two of his journalists Parfait Ayissi Etoa and Jean-Jacques Ze will not practice the profession for a month.

The decision was taken after the 27th ordinary session The National Communication Council that held on July 30, 2020. The session scrutinised five cases relating to media regulation.
In a release made public on Tuesday August 4, the media regulatory body sanctions Vision4 TV for disseminated abusive and stigmatizing remarks that jeopardize the honour of persons and the dignity of a community in three different programmes; Tour d’Horizon of June 25, Club d’elites of July 5 and the Midday news of July 2, 2020.

The release also indicated the concerned journalists were served summons but they never responded.

The NCC also suspended for a period of 3 months, Michel Tafou journalist at Météo while Jean Marie Anaba of Royal FM got a one month suspension.

The council also warned Georges Alain Boyomo of Mutations for using a journalistic genre that attributed unfounded declarations following an almost imaginary interview with the Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation, Dr Madeleine Tchuente.

Le Soir and La Météo newspapers equally received warnings from the NCC.
