2020 CHAN: 29 of the 30 Intermediate Lions in Camp

Goal keeper, Simon Omossola is the only one absent from the thirty players summoned for a ten day camping at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo, some 25 kms from the city of Yaounde.

The local players to compete in the 2020 CHAN to be organised in January 2021 in Cameroon answered present this Wednesday, September 15 , 2020 in Mbankomo for a two week training.

The training comes some five months after football activities worldwide were halted due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic that got the world on its knees.

The catch-up training as described by the Head Coach, Yves Clement Arroga comprised of the physical fitness aspects, a means to get the players warm up ahead of the real business.

The football tactician added that the absent goalkeeper Simon Omossola will be replaced by PWD’s shot keeper Anye Derick.

To him, the challenge is for his boys to the cover up the five months lost due to the #COVID19 in every possible means and get set for the task ahead , that is the 2020 CHAN.

A heavyweight like Mark Ojong told Crtvweb that he is exited because the individual indoor sports all this while is not sufficient to bag home a victory.

He says the team spirit is always a motivating factor in the den.
The agile player outrightly confirmed that they have vowed to put passion before any personal interest when they set into the turf to represent Cameroon at the 2020 CHAN.

Another Intermediate Lion, Dooh Moukoko claims that they are mentally ready and prepared to work as a team but thinks friendly games in the near future will just be the ideal move.

Earlier, the players were mandated to go through a series of tests most especially the #COVID19 by the team medics led by Dr. Tom Bodeba

On Monday, August 31st, 2020 Coach Yves Clement Arroga summoned to camp thirty indomitable lions for a 10-day training ahead of the 2020 CHAN to be hosted in Cameroon in January 2021.

This crew consist of three goalkeepers, eight defenders, thirty midfielders and six strikers.

On the waiting list are nine others to be integrated in case of need.

Worthy to note, Cameroon is paired in group A alongside Zambabwe, Burkina Faso and Mali for the 2020 CHAN.

The host, Cameroon will throw weights with Zimbabwe in the opening game at the Yaounde Omnisport Stadium.
