Cameroon: G20 condemns calls for uprising against Republican Institutions

A group of leaders of twenty opposition political parties going by the appellation, G20 has condemn the call for a popular uprising made by a political party leader.

The G20 leaders were speaking in Yaounde during a press Conference on Friday September 18, 2020.

They call on Cameroonians to ignore the calls to take to the streets for public manifestation that may destabilise Institutions of the country.

Rev. Prof TITA Samuel FON, National Chairman of CPP and others urged citizens to support the spirit of oneness by promoting peace and stability in Cameroon.

The group of leaders of twenty opposition political parties know as G20 are all unanimous that, an insurgent march organised to destabilize the country’s republic institutions is prohibited by the law.

They quoted article 2 of the constitution of Cameroon which stipulates that a citizen without an elective mandate cannot speak on behalf of the people.

The press conference was also an occasion for members of the G20 to call on administrative authorities to be vigilant so as to prevent the planned march which can destabilise social peace of Cameroon.
