The First Vice President of the Cameroon Democratic Union, CDU opposition political party has resigned from the party. Cyrille Sam Mbaka announced his resignations on Thursday September 10, 2020 during a press conference in Douala.
The politician who has been active in the CDU for over 30 years expressed his disappointment with the fact that a group of CDU supporters assembled in Foumban and auto proclaimed themselves as the executive of the party following the passing away of the National President and founder of the CDU, Adamou Ndam Njoya.

The politician told media men and women at the press conference that before the end of the year he would be active in a political party that promotes the values of democracy and peace.
It is yet unclear if he plans to create a new political party but representatives of other political parties in the country were present at the press conference ready to recruit the political bigwig.
