2020 Back to School: Pupils and Students Happy to Resume

It was a long seven-month wait for Letsini Bella and Danielle Lebah as COVID-19 came and imposed a long holiday on pupils and students across the country.

Thankfully, the wait is over as they returned to school this October 5, 2020, with a slightly modified timetable.

This Monday morning, the excitement was widespread as many pupils and students defied the present context of COVID-19 to exchange handshakes and hugs, upon meeting each other.

Loud discussions, laughter and giggling could be heard as pupils and students shared their experiences with each other.

After Seven Months without School, Pupils and Students are More Determined

Letsini Bella who is in Troisième Espanol 2 hopes to succeed in her BEPC end of year exam.

She barely studied during the pretty long break so she must start work immediately, she explains.

Kenne Fogha on her part, spent the long holiday helping her Mother at home.

She is in Form One and was happy to reunite with some of her friends from primary school today.

The little girl hopes to make her parents happy this new academic year with good grades.

“During the long holiday, I spent time working on the farm and helping out at home,” explains Obam Avomo, a Class Four pupil.

He is happy to return to school and meet his classmates and teachers. He also hopes to study hard and pass his exams.

In all, it was not just a long period of break; it was also time for children to help out at home and prepare for the new school year.
