Results of the 2020 session of the Government Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination have been released this October 2, 2020.

The Board Chair of the GCE Board, Prof. Ivo Leke Tambo, says inspite of the drop, more candidates sat the exam this year.

“We had a lot of challenges, but the candidates performed well. Looking at the results, you will discover that we have some improvements this year. We think because parents and children have begun to appreciate the importance of education as before, many of them have abandoned false information that they get from the media. That is why we had an additional 40,000 students who sat for the exam. Last year. We had 110,916 candidates, and this year, 154,148 candidates”.

He says another success achieved is the introduction of the Technical and Vocational Education examination, which recoreded 69.08% at the Advanced Level, and 64.4% at the Ordinary Level.
