The National President the Cameroon Party for National Reconciliation, Honourable Libii Li Ngue Ngue Cabral has urged government to review the procedure for the collection of Phone Tax. He gave the position of his party during a press conference at the party’s headquarters in Yaoundé.
The opposition party leader said he has not yet clearly understood the procedure for the calculation of the tax which was hitherto was paid solely by importers.
Proposals From Cabral Libii
The politician made some proposals on how government could generate revenue especially at the time when the global health crises, COVID19 amongst others have impeded revenue collection.
He said tax exoneration of luxury products like performed rice could be removed.
Taxes could be levied on automobile spare parts imported abroad.
The Member of Parliament and leader of the CPNR party proposed that Cameroon should adopt Geographic balance instead of regional balance.
To him admission into school like the ENAM should consider the geographical area where students added school and not their tribe of origin.
To him student who succeed in schools found in rural areas without regular energy supply and internet services are likely to excel when given a chance in a prestigious institution.
In this light he proposed that they should be quotas for candidates based on the geographical areas where they studied which corresponds to the access to educational facilities.
