ELECAM 3rd Board Meeting: Staff In Muyuka Sanctioned For Misconduct
The Chairman of the Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon, Enow Abrams Egbe has announced that his institution has sanctioned an elections Cameroon personnel in Muyuka for unethical practices.
He was speaking to media men and women during a press conference on the sidelines of the third ordinary session for the year 2020.
The Electoral Board of Elections Cameroon meeting holding at the institutions headquarters in Yaoundé focus is on midterm evaluation on the institution. It also examined the budgetary orientation for next year prior to the November session of parliament dedicated to the state budget.
The meeting is coming after the publication of lists of candidates accepted to run for the December 6, 2020 election of Regional councillors.
The board congratulated members and staff of elections Cameroon for the discipline and professional rigour during deliberations on the scrutiny of candidatures.
Enow Abrams Egbe said a majority of petitions of lists rejected for the December 6 election of regional councillors were unfruitful at the administrative courts because of the professionalism of ELECAM.
He explained the session also examined the plan of action put in place to ensure a successful organisation of election of region councillors.
The Challenge Of The North West And South West Regions
The Chairman of the Electoral Board of ELECAM said they are working with government services to ensuring security of voters and polling stations. He noted that after a visit to the North West and South West regions, the security situation is improving.
He however noted that security at the polling station is ensured by the President of the polling station and with the assistance of security services when the need arises.
He said during the December 6 election of Regional councillors security personnel will be discrete.
