1. President Paul Biya invited to AU summit
President Paul Biya has been formally invited to attend the 13th ordinary summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union. The invitation from the Libyan Guide and current chair of the African Union Colonel Muamar Khaddafi, was handed to the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Ephraim Inoni for onward transmission yesterday during an audience. Prime Minister received the special envoy from President Khadaffi who later announced that the summit will hold from the 1st to the 3rd of July, 2009 in Libya. 2.Cameroon-Equatorial Guinea joint commission begins The 7th session of the Cameroon-Equatorial Guinea joint commission has opened in Malabo. The Cameroonian delegation is led by the Minister of External Relations, Henri Eyebe Ayissi. The meeting comes against a backdrop of worries about the expulsion of illegal immigrants from Equatorial Guinea, and the closure of the Equato-Guinean side of the border with Cameroon.
