1.Sangmelima Council Area receives Construction equipment

The Sangmelima Council Area has received some road construction equipment worth 100 million CFA Francs. The offer was made by the Council Support Fund, FEICOM.

The equipment which includes two bulldozers was received last week end by the Major of the Sangmelima Council, Essian André Noel. The mayor expressed appreciation promising to create more access roads to the villages, maintain old ones and clean up the town.


2. Councils in the East Region set for new reform on decentralisation

The Permanent Secretary at the East Governor’s Office has expressed satisfaction with the partnership between Plan Cameroon and Councils in the Region.

Mr. Pierre Songa was addressing Municipal Administrators in Bertoua recently. The meeting was organised to determine the councils’ readiness in view of the forthcoming reform on decentralisation. The new reform highlights government’s new approach to development.
