Audience: Parliamentarians fighting climate change hold talks with Ephraim Inoni

30/06/2009 The 13 man executive committee of the Permanent Executive Committee of the Pan African Parliamentarians’ Network on Climate Change (PAPNCC) was at the Prime Ministers office.
The committee, led by Cameroonian born Hon. Awudu Mbaya Cyprian, went to update Ephraim Inoni on resolutions taken at the end of the PAPNCC conference that took place in Yaounde from June 25-27, 2009.

Speaking to the press after the audience, Honorable Awudu Mbaya said the conference took the firm resolution to work with governments in the continent so Africa adopts a common stand at the forthcoming UN conference on climate change to take place in December 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Copenhagen conference amongst other issues has been organized to review the Kyto Protocol.

He said the Pan African Parliamentarians’ Network on Climate Change also resolved to drag in other partners capable of joining the fighting against climate change.

Before the audience with the Prime Minister, the 13-member executive committee held talks with the Speaker of Cameroon’s National Assembly, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril.

Amongst other discussions, committee members called upon Cameroon’s House Speaker, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril to convey the ‘Yaounde Declaration’ to the Assembly of African Heads of State at the African Union summit to take place in Sirte, Libya from July 1-3, 2009.
