1. Two die in car accident on Ebolowa - Ambam highway!

Two people have died and 18 others injured in a road accident that accured Tuesday August 11 2009 on the Ebolowa – Ambam Highway in the South Region of Cameroon.

The accident occurred at 7.30 pm, specifically at a bend close to Atlanta City, a leisure spot situated at Ndengue village, some 16 km from Ebolowa, the South Regional headquarters.

The 30-seater bus involved in the accident belonged to a local travelling agency renowned for plying this highway.

According to eye  witness accounts, the driver was on high speed and was taken by surprise when he had to negociate a dangerous bend. In a futile attempt to gain control over the car, it turned over twice and landed in a ravine.

One passenger incurred a serious brain damage and 17 others, were rushed to the Ebolowa Regional Hospital.


2. 19 Year Old Student Drowns At The Sea In Kribi

A 19 year old student, spending holidays in Kribi, got drowned off the shore as he was having a leisurely swim in the ocean.

The police picked up his corpse at the Ngoye beach in this ocean town of Cameroon. The boy, identified as NOAH ETOA Boris Pascal, had been accompanied by 3 others to the sea. His friends watched him being consumed by the violent waves.

The incident occurred on Saturday August 8 2009. This is the second case of drowning in 6 months, at the Kribi sea. As usual, the story has raised curiosity about the sea which in known to cause mysterious death every year.
