1; Centre Region: Council Authorise schooled on financial management

Senior council officials including Secretaries General, Council Accountants and Mayors are upgrading their skills on the management of finances. 

They are drawn from 15 councils of the Centre region. A five day training seminar has been organised to equip local council authorities with skills on revenue collection and rigorous management of council funds. The forum has been organised by the National Community Driven Development Programme, PNDP.  The training is supported by the Local Government Training Centre, CEFAM Buea.


2;West Region: Minister of Tourism goes to Dschang

The Minister of tourism has announced plans to have private business concerns in the country take over the management of all state-owned hotels.

The announcement to privatise the hotels was made public as the Head of the Tourism Ministry begins a fact finding mission in Dschang in the West Region.

 Minister Baba Hamadou, while in Dschang, presided over the opening session of an inter-regional seminar aimed at boosting the tourism sector in the grass fields of Cameroon.

The participants at the Seminar came from the North West and West Regions of Cameroon.
