Titbits from the upper Nyong and Wouri divisions: Associations hail good works of President Paul Biya and Madam while heavy rains cause another victim

Upper Nyong Division

Dimako in the East region was in a festive over the week end. The finals of the 3rd edition of Festi Foot, a holiday sports programme for youth, initiated by Mrs. Chantal Biya took place.

Besides sports and cultural events the ceremony was graced by the donation of farm tools to women associations and school packs and computers to pupils and vocational training centres.

Mrs. Biya’s personal representative to Dimako was Mrs. Linda Yang, wife of the Prime minister.

Wouri Division

Members of a Douala-based goodwill association called Yakamata have pledged their support to President Paul Biya as he steers the country through a path of peace and stability.

The motion of support was made public in Douala during the movement’s bureau meeting that reviewed Cameroon’s socio-economic and political development.

Disaster strikes Douala. A motor cyclist was killed by landslide in the city’s Madagascar neighbourhood.  

34 year old orphan and motorbike taxi-rider, Eric Tchamba is the latest victim of the landslide that occurred in the Douala III Sub Division. The landslide was provoked by heavy rainfall and is said to be the third in three years.
