Sub Regional cooperation: Idriss Deby Itno ends 48 hour visit to Cameroon

29/10/2009

President Idriss Deby Itno has ended a 48 hour official visit to Cameroon. The visit was on the invitation of President Paul Biya.

Upon arrival, the Chadian President was warmly welcomed at the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport by the Head of State of Cameroon. Both leaders later held a one hour discussion at the Unity Palace. There are speculations that the discussions focused on ways of strengthening bilateral relations and other issues on the development of the sub-region.

Already, state of cooperation between the Republic of Chad and Cameroon is excellent not only because inhabitants of both countries share a common ancestry but also due to a common vision of a United Africa shared by both Presidents Idriss Derby Itno of Chad and Paul Biya of Cameroon.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Chad to Cameroon says, this is evidenced by the increasing number of Chadian students studying in Institutions of Higher Learning in Cameroon and the Douala port serving as conduit for goods.
