13/11/2009

Cameroon’s Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o has expressed satisfaction with the discipline and hardwork of the Rapid Intervention Battalion of the armed forces based in Limbe.

He was addressing the men in uniform at the Mana Worbay military base at the start of his contact tour of service under his command in the South West Region.

He noted with satisfaction that the presence of the rapid intervention unit in the area has curbed the activities of men of the under world.

On the second day of his tour, the Minister made an emotional visit to the area where 21 Cameroonian soldiers were gunned in Bakassi two years ago. He paid tributes to the fallen soldiers.

Edgar Alain Mebe Ngo’o also visited command posts and held working sessions with soldiers of the Rapid Intervention Battalion who are taking care of security in the Bakassi peninsular.
