Feast of the ram: Muslims return to work after resolving to be more committed to Allah

In Yaounde the centre of attraction during celebration was the Tsinga Islamic centre.

Prayers in the centre were presided over by Imam Abdou Salama.

The Imam urged Muslims to led exemplary lifestyles,  in accordance to the teachings of the  holy Koran.

He said it was important to glorify God, live in peace and harmony with one another and be faithful to Allah.

The vice Prime Minister, Minister of Justice Keeper of the Seals, Amadou Ali, the Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary and the Ambassador of South Korea to Cameroon were amongst tog personalities present at the Tsinga prayer ground where a ram was slaughtered by the Imam.

In at interview granted to CRTV after the prayer session, the Imam said this year’s feast is special because most Muslims countries, the world over, are celebrating on the same day.

According to him, the fact that the present celebrations are taking place on a Friday, considered by Muslims as a holy day makes the event special as the blessings also doubles.

The feast of the sacrifice is a ritual that is reminiscent of Abraham’s faith to Allah. He accepted to sacrifice his only son, Ismael as a show of gratitude to the Almighty.

God commanded him to replace this sacrifice with a ram which was close by.

Top personalities including the Minister of Justice, Amadou Ali, the Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary and the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Cameroon, after the prayers, highlighted the significance of the feast of faith and devotion.
