22/12/2009 The book also contains a general introduction inscribed by the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife, Elvis Ngolle Ngolle.
Paul Biya The People’s Call is a collection of written requests from various ethnic, political, cultural and business groups for President Paul Biya to stand as CPDM Party’s choice for the 2011 presidential elections.
The calls for Mr Biya to stand as the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement’s presidential candidate are generally contained in the form of motions of support addressed to the Party Chairman who doubles as President of the Republic.
Launching the book in a special ceremony organised at the Hilton Hotel this 21st December 2009, Prime Minister Philemon Yang argued that the voice of the people is the voice of truth.
According to Mr Philemon Yang, the book is an eloquent testimony of freedom and democracy in a country that encourages free political choices.
Paul Biya The People’s Call, according to political pundits, is the beginning of another political engagement in Cameroon.
At the launch, a cross section of CPDM Militants, Representatives of the Central Committee of the CPDM party, top Government officials and invited guest caught the first glimpse of a document which apparently sets the pace for another political race; the 2011 presidential election in Cameroon right at the corner.
Paul Biya The People’s Call is a 336 paged document published by the Cameroon Publishing and Editing Corporation, SOPECAM.
