Limbe and Bafoussam to get ultra modern sports complexes

The Minister Sports and Physical Education, Michel Zoa and the Chinese Ambassador to Cameron, Huang Chang Qing have jointly laid the foundation stone for the construction of an ultramodern sports complex in Limbe, South West Region.

The foundation stone for the ultra modern structure was laid at mile 4 Limbe on Friday 18th December 2009 during a heavily attended ceremony.

On the occasion, the Chinese architect, part of the team the designed the complex, assured the anxious crowd that had gathered that the structure shall be a world class stadium capable of hosting national and international encounters.

The world class edifice has been designed for a variety of disciplines including Football, rugby, cycling and athletics with a maximum of fifteen thousand seats.

A similar ceremony was organised in Bafoussam, the West Regional headquarter. The Chinese construction company, according to the agreement undertakes to construct a similar edifice.

The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Michel ZOA, and Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon Huang Chang Qing  before leaving for Limbe travelled to Bafoussam to finalise and concretise the beginning of construction work.

These projects are expected to complete within the early months of the year 2013.
