Updates on Religion: Christians and Religious leaders go on the offensive

The Metropolitan Archbishop of Yaounde, His Lordship Victor Tonye Bakot has rounded off a 2-day pastoral visit to the Anuarite Parish Biyem-Assi Nnam. 

In a high mass celebrated His  Lordship Tonye Bakot gave the sacrament of confirmation to some 20 Christians, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a bigger church house while blessing the team charged with the construction of the edifice. In his homly, the Holy Father talked of the virtues of an ideal family which to him is the foundation of a solid society. 

During the visit, one prominent parishioner, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education offered a special gift to the man of God. The football from Minister Zao was just one of the multitude offered to Tonye Bakot by the congregation.

Two deacons have been ordained at the Our Lady of Sacred Heart Parish, Efoulan-Yetyang near Sangmelima, in a highly attended ordination service.

The ordination service was officiated by the Archbishop of Sangmelima, Monseigneur Christophe ZOA, in the presence of elites from the area. The prelate called on the ordained to entrust their lives to the service of God and humanity.

The Obala diocese has ordained four new priests at the Efok parish. The four priests were ordained by the retiring bishop of Obala, Jerome Owono Mimboe.

Bishop Jerome Owono Mimboe urged the new priests with at least fourteen years of theological training, to spread the gospel of Christ according to the canons of the Catholic Church.

The Christian Youth Fellowship, CYF, movement of the Presbyterian Church recently celebrated its 50 years with a stock taking of her history and work in Cameroon.

Celebrations to mark the anniversary held at the Presbyterian Secondary School, PSS Mankon with the Synod Clerk and Moderation Elect of the PCC, Rev. Dr. Festus Ambe ASANA as chief celebrant.
