National Youth Day: Youths await President Paul Biya’s address

The President of the Republic is expected to address the Youth this evening at 8: 00 pm. The address which shall be broadcast simultaneously on radio, television and internet is delivered at a special time in the history of Cameroon.

The country celebrates fifty years of independence. Expectations are high that the President shall not only call upon the youths to mark the celebrations a success, but, shall also exhort these young Cameroonians to  be part of the Nation building effort.

In the meantime, Youth Day preparations gather more steam twenty four hours to D-Day. Most of the youth activities in schools are spearheaded by Youth Clubs that are staging a number of debates, dance competitions and other games. These clubs grouped in different categories are usually forums for students to socialize and acquire skills. Apart form the on-campus activities, a number of youth caravans are spotted in various parts of the town to draw the attention of city dwellers of the important event coming tomorrow.

At the   May 20th Boulevard in Yaoundé, a trade fair is ongoing. The fair which has been organized to highlight youth creativity shall be officially launched tomorrow by the Minister of Youth Affairs.
