Youth Day: President Paul Biya connects with the Youths

12/02/2010

In his message on the eve of the 44th Youth Day celebrations, the President of the Republic touched on a number of issues that are of prime interest to the Youths in Cameroon.

Through their reactions, it was evident that the President understands the problems and is determine to tackle them.

President Paul Biya’s announcement that poverty-reduction measures will be taken in 2010, and that a football training school may be constructed, have drawn tremendous appreciation from the youths.

Also, by appealing to the Cameroonian youth to return to farms and plantations, the president is making it crystal clear that agriculture remains the backbone of our economy.

The country is endowed with enormous natural potentials that open up opportunities for both agriculture and livestock farming which is why incentives are in the pipeline to foster investments in these sectors.

An immediate rendezvous to serve as a pointer to the importance the President lays on these sectors will be the 2010 agro-pastoral show slated for Ebolowa in the South Region.
