2019 AFCON: Preparations intensify ahead of CAF’s inspection mission

The various organising committtees are busy at work with strict instructions to meet up with the deadline.
In Yaounde having two play grounds, much has been done.
At the sixty thousand capacity Olembe Stadium, construction works range on in spite of controversial social media reports.
The Project Manager, Marc Debant says work goes on 24/24 hours daily to meet the deadline.
The Governor of the Centre Region, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee for the 2019 AFCON (COCAN),Naseri Paul Bea was at the site to inspect the pace of work.
In the company of the Chairman of the Technical Commitees of COCAN, Governor Naseri Paul Bea expressed satisfaction at the level of work.
He noted that his unannounced visit to the site was intended to get adequate field report.
In Douala, the fifty thousand capacity Japoma Stadium is gradually taking shape.
According to the Project Manager, Zeki Bozkurt, work is at 20% but the west end of the Sports Complex is almost complete.
He assures Cameroonians and the international community that a good part of the work will be finished by Febraury 2018.
Despite poor weather conditions in the Littoral, work at the site is 24/7 with the workers and the technicians determined to make the project a success.
In Garoua, the National Civil Engineering Company and Portuguese Company charged with the rehabilation of the Rumnde Aja Stadium is on the offensive.
Work has also advanced at the Gendarmerie and the CENAJES stadia that will serve as training grounds during the football jamboree.
The engineers say the fourteen months remaining is enough to complete renovation works.
CAF also prepares to make its inspection visit to Cameroon at a time when all sites and facilitates are gradually take shape
