Miss World 2017 Contest: Michelle Ange Minkata represents Cameroon
It was 12:54pm Central African Time when the Kenya Airways aircraft KQ 522 left the tarmac of the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airport with Miss Cameroon 2016, Michelle Ange Minkata on board.

Michelle Ange Minkata is en-route to represent Cameroon at the 2017 edition of the Miss World Competition organised in Sanya in China.
Before going on board the flight, Michelle Ange expressed gratitude to Cameroonians for the support she has been receiving so far, promising to raise the country’s flag high in China.
The Coordinator of the Miss Cameroon Contest, Ingrid Solange Amougou indicated that all has been put in place to ensure that Michelle Ange Minkata is comfortable throughout her stay in China.
It is worth recalling that Michelle Ange Minkata Akomo, fourth runners up at the 2016 Miss Cameroon Contest moved up to first place after former winner, Julie Cheugueu Nguimfack was dethroned due to some misunderstanding.
The first, second and third runners-up failed to show up and the fourth runners-up, Michelle Ange was selected and crowned the new Miss Cameroon 2016.
Michelle Ange Minkata has as hobby singing, dancing, basketball and travelling. She also plays the piano and loves music. She has been involved in campaigns to sensitise students on the consequences of drug and alcohol abuse.
She is also a Goodwill Ambassador of “La Colombe” which is an association that fights against sexual abuse against children.
The winner of the forthcoming 67th edition of the Miss World Pageant will be announced in a ceremony to take place on 18th November 2017 at the Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China.
On the occasion, outgoing Miss World, Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico will crown her successor.
