National days on Social Economy :3rd edition begins.
26/10/2017The 3rd edition of National days on Social Economy has been launched in Yaounde.

The event began on 25th October 2017 under the chairmanship of the Minister of Small and Medium Size Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft, Laurent Serge Etondi Ngoa.
The 3day event is holding under the theme “Social economy: a community development instrument for regional and local authorities”.
Participants are drawn from the ten Regions of Cameroon.
Deliberations focus on regulatory instruments that guide the social economic sector.
Promoters of social economy in Cameroon affirmed the sector is not contributing enough in a country where the informal sector is expected to boost economic growth.
Minister Laurent Serge Etoundi Ngoa called for a more organised social economy activities especially in rural areas. He declared;
“From one edition to another, we see more actors who benefit from government’s asistance necessary to improve production and creat jobs”
The social economy is dominated by members driven organizations such as cooperatives that offer poor financial assistance to boost their activities.
This National days on social economy was innitiated to size-up the important role social economy play in local development.
Participants are entrepreneurs and members of common initiative groups.
Sule Arouna is one of the participants from the North West Region who transforms cow milk into yoghourt. He details his expectations.
“I expect to meet different people with great ideas and expose my products too.I lack equipments like skimming machines. Wish this forum yields some fruits”
The workshop ends on Friday 27th October 2017.
